PTA assists the school counselor to promote Red
Ribbon week drug awareness activities in October, coordinates volunteers for vision and hearing
screening in the fall, and coordinates a drug awareness puppet show
for first graders.

Daily themes and
activities planned:
Monday – It’s
A Jungle Out There…Don’t Do Drugs.
Wear
jungle/safari/African attire.
“Don’t Monkey With Drugs”
wristbands.
Sign commitment to staying drug
free.
Tuesday –
Rally Against Drugs
Wear as much
red as you wish.
The top 5 classes with the most
red win a class ball.
Berkner Ramblers performing.
Parents welcome!!
Wednesday –
Be The Magic…I Can Be Drug Free.
Bring a
canned food item for the local food network.
Goal for the day:
Do something kind for
someone else.
Magician performing “THE
RIGHT CHOICE” program
Thursday –
Don’t Get Mixed Up With Drugs
Wear
non-matching clothing.
Book marks, stickers.
Friday – Be A
Leader, Not A Follower…Choose Drug Free.
Dress like
your favorite leader/hero/future job attire.
Believe/Achieve/Succeed
lollipops.
Vision and Hearing Screening - Yearly vision
and hearing screenings are completed at the beginning of
the school year.
